Dean Acheson

This episode features special guest, Dean Acheson. David Allen credits Dean as the originator of the next-action thinking that sparked what we know as GTD. David recently interviewed Dean as part of the GTD Connect: In Conversation series which created lots of interest in learning more from Dean. Download the podcast here.

The GTD Virtual Study Group meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month. There's been a flurry of requests and suggestions for future meetings. Here's the schedule for the next three:
  • Thursday, July 24 at 4 pm Eastern: using GTD to keep many plates spinning (i.e., many projects going all at once).
  • Thursday, Aug 14: NO MEETING
  • Thursday, Aug 28: Celebrating one year of the Virtual Study Group: using Dean's process of visioning (today's podcast) and the natural planning model to envision what we'll do over the next year.
  • Thursday, Sept 11: Using contexts to process next actions

Have you guys considered any of the ideas in Zen-to-Done http://zenhabits.net/2007/04/zen-to-done-ztd-the-ultimate-simple-productivity-system/ ?
Looks like some good stuff here, especially the recommendation to avoid constant twiddling with your system and trying out new tools.
